Lead Software Engineer Ruby

Lead Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails) 

This is a hands-on team lead role where you’ll manage a small team (3–6 engineers) while still being actively involved in building the product.

You’d be:

• Running 1:1s and supporting the growth of your team
• Involved in hiring and onboarding new engineers
• Reviewing code, pairing with the team, and acting as a technical sounding board
• Contributing to architecture decisions and shaping the platform
• Building features across backend and frontend
• Working closely with the VP Engineering on product and user experience
• Making sure everything is well tested and production-ready

Tech stack: Ruby on Rails, RSpec, Capybara, PostgreSQL, JavaScript, Tailwind

• Has 6+ years of experience, ideally with strong Ruby on Rails across the stack
• Is comfortable taking ownership and guiding others, even if not in a formal “lead” title before
• Understands databases (PostgreSQL ideally), APIs, and modern web development
• Cares about clean, maintainable code and proper testing
• Is comfortable working in an Agile/Scrum setup
• Communicates well and speaks fluent English
